Shirley Bumbaugh Obituary

Shirley A. (Green) Bumbaugh, 81, of Fox Hill Road, Waynesboro, PA passed away Friday morning, March 24, 2017 in the Waynesboro Hospital.
Born February 17, 1936 in Quincy Township, PA she was the daughter of the late Harry J. and Tressie C. (Monn) Green.
She and her husband, the late Glenn L. Bumbaugh, were married September 1, 1952. Mr. Bumbaugh passed away August 24, 1996.
Mrs. Bumbaugh was employed by the Waynesboro School District as a van driver for 43 years. She was also employed by several local area businesses including Knouse Foods, Connie's Sportswear, Dollar General, and Quincy United Methodist Home.
She attended Five Forks Brethren in Christ Church, Waynesboro. Mrs. Bumbaugh was a lifetime member of the Mont Alto Fire Hall Ladies Auxiliary and was a Golden Eagle member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1758, Waynesboro, where she was also a member of REACT.
She enjoyed playing bingo, taking trips to Williams Grove, going on bus trips to Nashville, TN and Wheeling, WV.
Mrs. Bumbaugh is survived by four children, Allen L. Bumbaugh and his wife Bev of Glen Rock, PA, Lucinda E. Shannon and her husband Paul of Marion, PA, Kerry L. Bumbaugh of Quincy, PA, and Mark R. Bumbaugh and his wife Tonya of South Mountain, PA; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by a son Kevin L. Bumbaugh and a sister Bernice Muth Harbaugh.
Services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA, with Pastor Ray Kipe officiating. Burial will follow at Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Philadelphia Ave., Chambersburg, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Wednesday evening, in the funeral home.
Flowers are welcome, however if desired memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
