There was never a dull moment around Uncle Joe, and no occasion in which his humor failed to light up the room, campsite, or wherever we were lucky enough for him to be with us. We looked forward to every opportunity to spend time with him, and he will be dearly missed.

There will never be another man like this. He helped so many people in life. Especially me. When there were times that I ran into dead ends with projects I started in our community, to better it, he would just look at me with those twinkling eyes and say "You can do it". That's was my encouragement. Eloise was always there beside him to help! They don't make folks like Joe and Eloise anymore. I'll never forget him and his smile along with those twinkling eyes.

He set a beautiful example of a true gentleman , for all who knew him. He was kind, loving and full of charm and wit. I was blessed to call him my uncle, and will miss his laughter and hugs.
