HERBERT REIMANN Obituary

Published by Richmond Times-Dispatch on Feb. 15, 2010.
REIMANN, Herbert, 85, of Sandston, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, February 13, 2010. He was preceded in death by his beloved son, Wolfram. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Lilo; son, Marc; daughter, Conny (Wayne); eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Born in Germany, he earned his Engineering Degree in Hamburg, moving to Richmond with his wife in 1966. He retired from Reynolds Aluminum where he was the Development Project Director. Mr. Reimann was also an accomplished writer, inventor and had a passion for photography, music, languages, cultures and fishing. His thirst for knowledge kept him busy in his workshop well after retirement. He was a member of the German American Sports Club, International Club of Richmond and The Engineers Club of Richmond, also volunteering at the Fire/Police Museum, using his expertise with metal and electronics. We will miss him dearly and cherish our memories with him forever. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at Nelsen Funeral Home & Crematory, 4650 S. Laburnum Ave., Richmond, where funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18, 2010. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bon Secours Hospice Foundation, 5875 Bremo Road, Suite 710, Richmond, Virginia 23226 or to The Parkinson's Research Foundation, at www.parkinson.org.
