Frances Hurt Obituary

Published by Storke Funeral Home-Bowling Green Chapel on May 31, 2010.
HURT, Frances Lambert, 69, of Bowling Green, died Thursday, May 27, 2010 at Mary Washington Hospital. Born in Tazewell County, she was the daughter of the late Byron Perry Lambert and Frances Rowe Lambert. Frances was educated at the University of Mary Washington and the Medical College of Virginia, where she specialized in Medical Technology. After a brief career in that field, she turned her efforts toward raising a family. A giving person and gentle soul, she was always ready to lend a helping hand. She took delight in being a grandmother. She was very fond of the Bowling Green area to which she had strong family ties. She enjoyed watching and feeding birds near her home and caring for her cats, especially Chessie. She was a very active member in Bowling Green United Methodist Church, where she served on the flower committee, angel food committee and the worship committee. She was also a reading buddy with Caroline County Public Schools and an avid bridge player. Frances had a huge heart and those people whose lives she touched will miss her dearly. She is survived by her children, Mark Hunter Lambert and his wife, Elaine, of Lovettsville and Karen Hurt Nash and her husband, Douglas, of Leedstown; a brother, Byron P. Lambert Jr.; two grandchildren, Hunter Marshall Hurt and Bethany LeAnn Hurt; and her cat, Chessie. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Sunday, June 6, 2010 at Bowling Green United Methodist Church, with Rev. Bill Duganne officiating. Reception will follow after the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Bowling Green United Methodist Church. Sign the register book online www.storkefuneralhome.com.
