Barbara Wallace

WALLACE, Barbara Borgatta, 55, of Mineral, Va., died peacefully on Sunday, November 29, 2009 at home, surrounded by family and friends, after a five-year battle with breast cancer. She taught Italian at the University of Richmond, VCU and sometimes University of Virginia. Barbara is survived by her husband of 36 years, Michael; parents, William J. and Joan Borgatta of Wilmington, N.C.; brothers, Charles (Eileen of Lindenhurst, N.Y., William A. (Kathy Nelson) of Levittown, N.Y.; sister, Joan Marie (David) Webster of Austin, Texas; aunts, Helen Vogel of Chicago, Illinois, Irene Bober of Elizabeth, N.J.; three nieces, one nephew, and numerous cousins. A celebration of Barbara's life will be held 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, December 6, 2009 at Lacy Funeral Home, Rte. 522, Mineral, Va.
