When a loved one goes home....
Sometimes you're not sure what to say to God.
You don't need to say anything.

To the family and many friends of Baxter:
I had the pleasure of growing up with Baxter in the community of Goldsboro, N.C. He was a big guy with an equally big heart. God blessed Baxter with great intelligence, strength, and compassion, which he used to make a difference in his community and to also reflect the goodness of God. We can all draw comfort in the knowledge that our loved one is now resting peacefully in the presence of our All Mighty and Gracious Father.

To the Harrington Family:
This is such a shock and it just hits hard to all of us that knew Baxter. He was a just a good person. He was a classmate (GHS '75), a dedicated family man, a man who committed himself to God very early in life and an excellent athlete. We used to say in high school that Baxter would tackle you and then pray over you after the hit. Let us thank God for sharing him with us and for the things he taught us. Rest assured that God has him in his hands and may God continue to give all of you strength and comfort in your time of loss.

To the Harrington Family
May God provide you comfort and peace during this time of bereavement. I was Baxter's classmate at Goldsboro High School and he was a great defensive football player and class leader. He will be missed.

I am saddened by the loss of a great man of God and a friend of over twenty years. Baxter has been an inspiration to countless souls and the presence of his ministry will surely be missed. God, in His infinite wisdom, has seen fit to call one of His sons home and give rest to a good and faithful servant. My heart felt sympathies go out to his family and many friends that will surely miss him. May you feel the arms of the Father in each and every hug, prayer, word of comfort and act of kindness during this time of bereavement.
Sincerely,
Michael Riley (Rachel)

To the family, may the Lord keep you strong during this sorrowful time in your life. Psalm 138:8 "The Lord will perfect those things which concerns you" Turn it all over to the Lord for comfort.
Mr. Harrington was well loved, and a respected teacher. He was instrumental in alot of nurses, passing their courses, at Richmond School of Health and Technology. He went the extra mile to ensure each of us knew the material well enough to master our competency, which was to pass the NCLEX , and he succeeded.
He was a powerful orator, with great wisdom, and knowledge to back up his talk. He loved people and life. You will be missed!
Rest on Mr. Harrington. May the Lord open up his doors and say well done my faithful servant. WELL DONE!

Florene, Bobby, Christina, Brandon and the rest of Baxter's loving family.
There are no words that can express how shocked, and I mean shocked no more than you all to hear of Baxter's passing. I had just talked with him also, about his upcoming move and he was going to call me back. As I spoke with you, I will not know how you feel, but because Baxter and I go way back to when my kids were small and before his were born; when he was working at Baptist Hospital and before he and Carolyn were married, I am feeling a great loss as well. Been with him with the start of MOTTEP even from a long distance. Baxter was a big man with an even bigger heart. Those of us that knew him well, will always understand what a loss this is. Please continue to pray for comfort, because only God knows the pain, but he also knows how to comfort us. Love to you all.

To the Harrington Family
We were saddened and ahocked to hear of the death of Rev. Harrington. My (Mary) association with Baxter dates back to the time when I was a volunteer with the Minority Organ Tissue Transplant Education Program (MOTTEP). He and Rev. Ray Smith were our leaders. It was a rewarding experience to work with these gentlemen in promoting the Organ/Tissue Donor Program. May the sharing of friends cheer you, the memory of your loved one console you and the Love of God strengthen you during this time of bereavement.
