I ask Bridget to give my brother a hug for me. Bridget was smart, funny, humble, and all of the things that make a beautiful human being! I worked as a prof assistant and worked across from her office for a while. She was always kind and appreciative. She was genuine. My prayers go up for Bridget's family and friends. R.I.P.

Bridget exemplified beauty, strength, intelligence and kindness. As everyone else, I am deeply saddened by her death and send my deepest condolences to Mrs. Leonard, Dave and the rest of her family and friends. It is inspirational to see what Bridget accomplished in her short life and I know she would have been as brave in the face of death as she always was in life. Bridget never took the easy road and it showed in the phenomenal results she achieved in everything she did. I will always treasure my memories of 8th grade cheerleading practice in the Leonard yard and being part of the "Franklin Flash" 4x100 relay team with Bridget.

I can't find the right words to describe my sorrow about losing Bridget. She was so giving, so selfless, and had such love for her family and friends. Her support and sense of humor have carried so many of us through so many hard times. I was astounded by her intelligence every single time we spoke. But I also admired her humility. I loved hearing about the places she traveled. Her sense of adventure brought her all around the world, and I know she touched lives everywhere she went. Only Bridget could get me to skydive. I only wish we could dance our worries away one more time. I am so sorry for everyone's loss.

To the family of Bridget Leonard,

I was deeply saddened to learn of Bridget’s passing. Bridget was one of the attorneys where I work and from time to time I had the pleasure of working for her. She was always such a kind-hearted and most appreciative person. I will miss her kind-hearted spirit, smiling face and that beautiful red hair.

When you lose someone very precious, no one else can really know all that you feel. But, please know that many caring thoughts are with you during this time of sorrow.

My deepest condolences to the family.

I just learned of Bridget's death and am in complete shock. As and underclassman in high school I always looked up to her and was amazed by her smarts, athleticism, and compassion. She was someone I aspired to be. I will forever remember cheering/ Nationals, gymnastics (the complete awe of watching her tumble down the floor!), and running the 4x100 relay with her- go White Lightening!! She even set school records for sprint and long jump! She was truly an amazing person and I think of her often. My sincere condolences go out to her family and friends during this very difficult time.

Bridget made me feel like a local instead of an outsider, which I had not felt in a long time. She and I had many conversations out on the porch drinking a glass of red wine (her favorite) and talking the night away. I raise my glass to you, girl! You will be terribly missed and will forever have made a positive impact on my life in Richmond. Hugs to you wherever you are! -Erin

I will miss Bridget dearly. As a young lawyer, she counseled me during my tough first year at the firm. Watching her come into the office next to mine every day, she showed an admirable devotion to her work. Sitting on her porch swing this past summer, getting pedicures, meeting her kitties, talking about her time in Thailand and the incredible adventures she lived, I was excited to re-connect when I returned to Richmond.

When I think of Bridget, I will always think of her smiling and of how caring and selfless she was. I am shocked and sad that she is gone so soon. I will miss you Bridget.

I'm so very sorry to hear the sad news of Bridget's passing. I'll always remember her laughter, smiles and great sense of humor. No one could light up a room like she could when she was dancing :) I'll never forget the fun we had celebrating the end of the bar exam and then later finding out that we had passed it. My heartfelt condolences to her family.

I am deeply and genuinely saddened by Bridget's passing. I first met Bridget over seven years ago as we both began law school. She quickly became a friend, and I was always comforted by her unwaveringly upbeat nature. She was a loyal sounding board for those who knew her. As exceptionally bright and high achieving as she was, never would you hear her utter an unmodest word. Her balance of intelligence and humility was remarkable. Bridget was blessed with both academic and social intelligence and had the kind of well-rounded outlook on life that made conversations with her enjoyable--and generally hilarious, too. Whether it was chatting about Thai food in Thailand vs. the USA, or the benefits and burdens of home ownership, I never had a conversation with her that I did not find interesting. I always laughed when talking to Bridget and walked away feeling at least a little enlightened. More than any other attribute, though, I would highlight Bridget's compassion as a person in defining who she was and what her legacy will always be.

I do not understand why things like this happen, but I do know, without doubt, that Bridget's family and friends will remember her fondly forever. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. The world just lost a wonderful person.

It is a very sad day to learn our friend has passed. Bridget showed us the great sides of Richmond, and became our first friend there. "I am Fan-centric!", she once said. So sincerely kind, fun and energetic. A sweet smile comes to mind when we think of Bridget. We will miss you dearly!

"We weren't prepared for you to go

You were too full of life to be

Taken away from us so soon

It's still hard to believe

How much we'll miss your smile

And your laughter in our ears

Your absence leaves a hole in us

We're filling with our tears

You taught us how to be our best

To in the moment live

To never hold a grudge for long

And loyal friendship give

Your presence was a light and joy..."
