Catherine PENTON

PENTON, Catherine Cary, age 37, died September 30, 2009 in Hollywood Hospital in Perth, Australia, after a long, courageous and dignified effort to survive lymphoma. Catherine was born on January 3, 1972, in Newport News, Va. She graduated from York High School, attended North Carolina State University for two years, and graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University. She lived and was employed in Richmond, Va., after she graduated from VCU. She married the love of her life, Jeremy David Penton of Bunbury, Western Australia, on May 10, 2003. They made their home in the beautiful Ferguson Valley. Their precious daughter, Anna Virginia, was born on May 30, 2007. Left to mourn her loss are her beloved husband, Jeremy David Penton; and her beloved daughter, Anna Virginia Penton, both of the Ferguson Valley. Also heartbroken are her parents, Anne and Aubrey "Buddy" Cary of Williamsburg, Va. Other grieving survivors are her two aunts and uncles, Marcia Lee Hall and her husband, Don C. Hall V, of Gloucester and Patricia R. Whitehead and her husband, Allen H. Whitehead Jr., of Williamsburg. Other survivors include seven cousins and their families. Services for Catherine were held at the Crematorium Chapel in Bunbury at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2009 (Australia time) and a celebration of her life was held at the Ferguson Hart Winery in the Ferguson Valley, where she lived so happily. We will love her and miss her for all of our lives. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia Society of Western Australia, P.O.
