Clyde Baker Obituary

BAKER, Clyde F. Jr., 78, of Richmond, passed away September 21, 2008. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary B. Baker. He is survived by two daughters, Beverly Marano and her husband, Sydney Marano, and Pam Harrison and her husband, Hallet Harrison; a sister, Audrey Ruble of Roanoke, Illinois; four grandchildren, Stacie Lutton, Ashley Bowden, Ryan Heizer, and Aryn Marano; three great-grandchildren, Zachary Harrison, Avery Lutton, and Nathan Bowden. Mr. Baker retired from R. Stuart Royer and Associates as a consulting engineer after 30 years of service. He was a lifelong member of Fairmount Christian Church. The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 23, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Woody Funeral Home - Atlee Chapel, 9271 Shady Grove Road, and where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. Interment Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Dear Mary, Bev and Pam,
We were so sorry to hear about Clyde. We had no idea and didn't find out till Sunday the 28th. Our prayers and sympathy are with you all. I know all of you have such wonderful memories of him. We will get by to see you soon. May God Bless you all and give you strength.

We knew Clyde from the Senior Bowling League. We enjoyed bowling with him. He always had something fun to say. He will be missed.

So sorry to hear about Clyde. I always enjoyed seeing him at Atkinson Family Reunions. We often ran into each other in and around Mechanicsville and he always took time to chat for a few minutes.

Audrey, it was nice to see you at the family reunion but sorry it was under those circumstances. Mama & Daddy (Bertha & Nolan) always spoke of you and said you were such a sweet lady.

Praying God will bless and comfort you and the family as only He can do.
