Dixie NUCKOLS Obituary

NUCKOLS, Dixie Buie, 84, of Henrico, formerly of Manakin-Sabot, died on January 12, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berger C. Nuckols; grandson, Daniel C. Nuckols; and sister, Sadie B. Wilson. She is survived by her four children, daughters, Elizabeth N. Nuckols (Jimmy) of Manakin-Sabot and Lyn B. Caudill of Louisa and sons, Richard K. Nuckols and Lex B. Nuckols of Manakin-Sabot; six grandchildren, Diana L. Nuckols, Lacy B. Nuckols, Madalyn E. Nuckols, Paige C. Nuckols, Morgan C. Caudill and Hunter L. Caudill; three sisters, Peggy B. Kepley (David) of Salisbury, N.C., Dewie B. Rickard (Dick) of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and Sylvia S. Fisk of Cathedral City, Calif.; and brother-in-law, Robert M. Wilson of Fort Belvoir; eight nieces and two nephews as well as many other loving family and friends. The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 21, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Westhampton Chapel Mausoleum, 10000 Patterson Ave., Richmond, Va., with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Barium Springs Home for Children, P.O. Box 1, Barium Springs, N.C. 28010, or online at www.bariumsprings.org. Arrangements by the West Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 11020 W. Broad St.

I have so many great memories of our visits to see our family in Virginia and North Carolina. Aunt Dixie always welcomed us with open arms and took great care of us. She took us on great site seeing trips in Virginia and Washington, DC. and took us to North Carolina and showed us her family homes, and all kinds of places that connected us to our family history.. what a fun time i had coming to Mrs. Nuckols house on the weekend i use to help her clean and she taught me to not ride the breaks when i drove her car down the drive to get the mail.after lex told on me Lyn and I had good times together!
