Eleana,

I only met you briefly while playing tennis but I took an instant liking to you and recall how your eyes sparkled when you spoke of Ted. In reading the other guest book entries, I see that he touched many in his time here on earth. May you always be reminded of him in the likenesses of your grandchildren.

TED WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF ALL THE JAYEM ACTIVITIES AND, WITHOUT TED, NOTHING WILL BE THE SAME, AT THE REUNIONS AND OTHER EVENTS. TED WAS LIKE A BROTHER TO ME AND THE MEMORIES OF GOING BY THE MECHANICSVILLE FORD EVERY WEEK TO TALK TO TED AND PAUL GENTRY AND OTHERS WAS THE HIGHLIGHT OF MY WEEK. TED WAS GOOD TO ME AND MY HUSBAND, BOOTSIE HENDRICKS, BY LOANING US A CAR AND THEN GETTING US A GOOD BUY ON A CAR.
WHEN MY CAR BROKE DOWN, HE ALWAYS HAD ONE FOR ME TO USE. HE WAS ALWAYS CHEERFUL TO ME AND I ALWAYS TOLD HIM HE WAS LOVED BY ME AND THE JAYEM REUNION COMMITTEE. I REMEMBER MICHAEL AT THE SHOP TOO AND IT WAS A LAUGHING GOOD TIME TO BE WITH TED AND MICHAEL AND HIS FRIENDS. I AM SO SAD AND MY HEART IS BROKEN OVER THIS NEWS. LIVING IN FLORIDA, JUST MOVING FROM MY HOME TO A ONE BEDROOM APT., LOSING MY BOOTSIE TOO, (AND I KNOW ITS REUNION DAY IN HEAVEN WITH TED, PAUL AND BOOTSIE NOW), I WANTED TO BE AT THE FUNERAL SO BAD BUT IT WAS IMPOSSIBLE TO GET A FLIGHT SO SOON AND MOVING TOO ALL BY MYSELF. I WANT YOU, ELAINA AND MICHAEL, TO KNOW THAT I WISH I COULD BE OF SOME COMFORT. I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, BUT PUT YOUR FAITH IN GOD AND GOD WILL GUIDE YOU THROUGH AS HE HAS SOME WAY FOR ME. I WILL KEEP YOU AND THE FAMILY IN MY PRAYERS AND WILL ALWAYS MISS THE GOOD OLD DAYS WITH TED AND THE GANG. GOD BLESS YOU!

I had the privilege of working with Ted in the automobile business.
Ford Motor Company was very lucky to have such a great ambassador.
He was honest, hard working and loyal to his customers and community.
In my 37 years working with Ford, Ted was truly one of the best dealers.
He was also my friend and I will miss him.

To the Filer Family,
My wife and I will never forget Ted. In 1958 Ted loaned us a brand new Ford to travel on our honeymoon to Washington D.C. He was such a wonderful person.May your hearts soon be filled with wonderful memories of joyful times together as you celebrate a life well-lived.

Mrs. Filer and Mike, Ted was a wonderful man and I have so many great memories of Him troughout the High school years and after. His support of a basketball team that won only one game, his kindness when many were fed at Westwood without his knowledge, and his kindness given to all. I know the sorrow and grief felt during this time of loss will pass. Until it does my prayers and thoughts are with you all.

July 6, 2010

I didn't know him well, but I liked him.
We didn't do much business together; but, when we did, I found him to be honest, straight forward and fair.

The family of Ed Harris, deceased, expresses sympathy for your loss. When we were growing up, we heard so many great football stories about Ted and the "Gang" at both John Marshall and William and Mary. My father had the utmost respect for him as a fellow athlete and friend as well as business man. My Mother sends her regards as she reminisces over many fond memories of Ted and Daddy. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
Sincerely,
The Family of Ed "Simp" Harris

Mrs Filer / Mike -
I was so sorry to read about your loss. I am so happy you included me on a number of holiday events where I got to spend some time with Mr Filer. He had such a fascinating life. He certainly had a very successful life when I look at such a wonder family. I will be in Dallas during the funeral or I would have attended. I will be in touch. My thoughts and prayers are with your family.
