Such a sweetheart, was my first girlfriend in the 5th grade in St. Louis. I was Google searching when I came across an obituary on Johnna pursue. After reading it and seeing she had 9 sisters and the age was accurate I then realised this was my friend from 50 years ago. So sad.....condolences to family. R.I.P. DEAR JOHNNA.

Saddened to learn that Johnna has passed. Proud to learn that she kept her indomitable spirit throughout her life. She was my childhood friend. She saw the world through a poet's eyes. I am sad that we did not keep in touch (this was before "cyber-connections") because there are too few Johnna's in this world!

"I held a jewel in my fingers
And went to sleep
The day was warm, and winds were prosy
I said, "Twill keep"
I woke - and chide my honest fingers,
The Gem was gone
And now, an Amethyst remembrance
Is all I own "
I'll always regret not knowing in time.

I had Ms. Pardue last year. She was more than a teacher, though. She was a friend and helped me through some hard times. I had her everyday and loved everyone of them. She always made us laugh (snap, 90 degrees!). Miss and love you Ms. Pardue.

Certain people you meet in the course of life touch you. Johnna was one of those people. She was a patient at the dental office I work for and she was special to all of us. I will miss her and send my prayers to her family at this time of sorrow.

Johnna was dedicated in everything she did!! We worked together at McDonald Army Hospital many years ago. We remained friends over the years. She was a kind-hearted individual with a zest for knowledge! Johnna will certainly be missed. To her family...she loved you all dearly! She won't be far and will always be watching over you! God bless you and your family during this time; I will keep you in my prayers. Gina A. Davis

"The School teacher" was the name that we affectionately called her for so long. Johnna seemed to appreciate the reference because she cherished her occupation. In her we found a kindred spirit in her plain spoken and outspoken manner and her constant advocacy for the underdog and other topics for which she felt a passion. Her committment was sterling. When we were first introduced to Johnna as friends of David Dudley, we felt that she instantly loved us and cared for us. She saw us through many medical challenges with her "can-do"spirit. We are convinced that "multi-tasking" was coined as soon as Johnna came along. Swimming at Dud's pool and the cook outs with all the lively discussions just won't be the same without her. But we are glad that Johnna made footprints on our hearts and took such good care of our mutual friend,David Dudley. We will always remember her as "the little lady with the big heart!"

Ms P was a dedicated educator.I had Ms. P. my junior year, her first year at New Kent HIgh. I learned a lot of which I still use today. So she did her job. Ms. Pardue was my geometry math teacher in high school. She was always so patient and kind and helped me understand what I was doing and how to do math better. She was always kind to everyone and wasn't harsh like most teachers. I still keep alot of the things she taught me in my mind in my college courses I know that she will be missed by both her family and those at NKHS. Rest In Peace Ms. Pardue, you will be missed

Johnna was my son and daughters math teacher. She was wonderful to them both. She was always available and willing to help them any time. She made me feel as if my kids were as special to her as they are to me. Johnna was also a patient at the dental practice I work at and she was the sweetest person. She will be missed. My condolences. Amy Harper
