JOHNSTIN, Mr. Marlin G. "Sonny," age 68, of South Hill, died Friday, April 30, 2010. He is survived by his wife, Marie S. Johnstin of the home; a stepson, Bryan S. Spake (Shannon) of Alaska; stepdaughter, Vicky S. Evans (Jeff) of South Hill; a brother, Richard "Dick" Johnstin (Annette) of Massachusetts; and two sisters, Barbara Ormes (Ralph) and Patricia Flynn, both of Florida. Also surviving are two stepgrandchildren, Jenny (Mark) Warren and Jeffrey (Amanda) Melton; and two stepgreat-grandchildren, Tucker and Cooper Warren. Mr. Johnstin was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann Johnstin. Mr. Johnstin was retired after 24 years with VDOT, a life member of Southside Rescue Squad and an Army veteran. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday, May 3, 2010 at Farrar Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Crestview Memorial Park, LaCrosse, Va. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial considerations may be directed to Southside Baptist Church, P.O. Box 295, LaCrosse, Va. 23950.
