FRANCIS, Mrs. Nancy Wilmoth, of Halifax, Virginia, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, April 15, 2010. She was born in Chase City, Virginia on February 9, 1927, and was 83 years old. She was the daughter of the late Col. Edward M. Wilmoth and Madaline Ralston Wilmoth; and was married to the late George Booker Francis Sr. She was a member of Beth Car Baptist Church and a graduate of James Madison University. She was a retired bookkeeper for Dominion Virginia Power and Francis Furniture Company. She is survived by one daughter, Ellen Francis Moseley and husband, Robert, of Moseley; one son, George Booker Francis Jr. and wife, Betsy, of Halifax; four grandchildren, Scott Brooks Francis of Richmond, Katherine Ann Francis of Richmond, Brooke Elizabeth Moseley of Radford, Robert Matthew Moseley of Moseley; one brother, Edward Wilmoth of Richmond. She was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Nunnelly of Blackstone. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 18, 2010, 2 p.m. at Beth Car Baptist Church, with Rev. Dr. Michael Parnell conducting the service. Burial will follow in the Oak Ridge Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, April 17, 2010 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home and other times at the home, 350 Canterbury Drive, Halifax, Va. 24588.
