I taught with Bob at Collegiate Schools for five years and one summer at Blue Ridge Academy. He was a scholar, gentleman, and a friend. I consider myself lucky having known Bob Livy. My favorite memories are attending UVA football games with Bob. He will be missed.

Mr. Livy was a storng teacher of mine, one of the highschool academic expereinces I took to college. His teachings assisted me greatly in my preparation for a long academic carreer post high school. I remember that he came to my personal assistance when I expereinced some family issues, and he was able to put me at ease. He was a good man, a good friend, and he will be missed by many.

Mr. Livy, My sincere thanks for an introduction to English literature, an entity that has grown much dearer to me than I would have ever thought it might since my career is in medicine. It all started with Chaucer, Milton, Shakespeare, Joyce and their ilk for whose acquaintance I will always be in your debt. -John Eggleston, Collegiate Schools 1987

Please accept my sincere condolences on the loss of your cousin Bob. I served with him briefly as a member of the board of trustees of the Blue Ridge School. Bob's passing has left a void at Blue Ridge that will not be filled. His wisdom, integrity and dedication to the unique mission of Blue Ridge made a difference in the lives of many people: students, their families;faculty; staff; admisintration and his fellow board members. His legacy continues in the lives he influenced.
