Don Blois was born and raised in Vallejo, Calif. He graduated from Vallejo High School in 1952. He was also a graduate of Vallejo Junior College, Sacramento State University, and Golden Gate University in San Francisco.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953-1955 and was stationed in Japan during the Korean conflict. Don worked in San Francisco for more than 37 years as the head of human resources for three major companies. During that time, he was active in many San Francisco business organizations such as The CommonWealth and World Trade Club.
Don was a member of the Vallejo Golf Club and served as a director at one time. He was a longtime member of the Vallejo Elks Lodge and a past Exalted Ruler from 1996-1997. Don loved to be surrounded by family and friends with an Old Crow cocktail in hand; no ice.
He enjoyed golf, deep sea fishing, searching out the finest restaurants, and putzing around his yard. He also had a passion for one of Jodeane's fine cooked meals, a challenging domino game and trips to fine gambling establishments.
Don and his beloved wife, Jodeane, were happily married for more than 55 years. They have three loving children, Yvonne, Camille, and Phillip; and one grandson, his only and favorite, Ricky J. Varni II.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010 at Twin Chapels Mortuary, 1100 Tennessee St., Vallejo. There will be a memorial reception immediately following the service at Vallejo Elks, 2850 Redwood Parkway, Vallejo.

Jodeane, Yvonne, Camille & Phillip.
Although we have never met we have heard a lot of nice things from your sister & the children's aunt Bernida and want to express our sadness and deepest sympathy on the passing of Don. I keep this saying in my heart when we lose a loved one and hope it gives you some comfort;
God saw Don getting tired and a cure was not to be. So He put His arms around him and whispered "come to me." With tearful eyes we watched him, and saw him pass away. Although we loved him dearly, we could not make him stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hardworking hands at rest. God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.

Don was a loving and caring Brother-in-law (BROTHER) He was part of my life as far back as I can remember. We didn't do a lot together, but I knew he was always there and willing to help if necessary. We shared many fishing stories, his were always better than mine. Don's smile was infectious, you couldn't help but smile when talking to him.
Don will be missed but always LOVED and never forgotten.
