Karen Nielsen Obituary

Karen (Klotz)
Nielsen
Karen (Klotz) Nielsen, formerly of Coaldale, Pennsylvania peacefully sang the last measure of her beautiful song of life on Thursday, May 8, 2014.
From July 29, 1947, when she took her first breath, to Thursday when she took her last, the lyrics of her song were ones of kindness, wisdom, fierce resolve, humor and love.
She sang her healing songs as the daughter of Alma, a mother of Kira (Merrills) and Daniel, as the wife of Douglas, a grandmother of Abel and Lucia, and as a physical therapist for 43 years.
Services: A celebratory gathering of family and friends will take place at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17 at First Parish Congregational Church of Saco, Maine. If you cannot be present at that time, please consider a moment and singing a song that is a favorite of yours in her memory. If you are moved to make a contribution in her name, please consider the Pastor's Discretionary Fund of First Parish, 12 Beach St., Saco, Maine 04072; or the Cancer Community Center of Scarborough, 778 Main St., South Portland, Maine 04106 or a social justice effort of your choice.
Dennett, Craig and Pate, 365 Main St., Saco, Maine, 04072 are in charge of the funeral arrangements.
