Carey Blount Obituary

Mrs. Ann Kenner Blount, 83, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, Jan. 14, 2013, at the Belmont at Twin Creeks Nursing Home in Allen, Texas. Graveside services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Oakwood Cemetery in Corsicana, with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. A remembrance gathering will follow at the Holiday Inn Express in Corsicana at Hwy 287 and I45.

Ann was born March 7, 1929, in Corsicana to William B. Janie Kenner. She graduated from Corsicana High School in 1946. She spent over 30 years in Pasadena, Texas, where she raised her family and took pride on her work as an employment counselor. She loved playing bridge and enjoyed bargain shopping, especially for jewelry. She was a very fun-loving individual and as a result, had many, many friends. Ann always considered Corsicana her "home" where she spent the majority of her remaining years.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wayne Blount; siblings, Jane Rouse and William Kenner; and her grandson, Richard Davidson.

She is survived by her children, Dr. Fred Raby and wife, Penny, of Hewitt, and Lynda Davidson and husband, Mike, of Allen. She is also survived by the father of her children, Emmett W. Raby. Ann was blessed with four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 30 E. 33rd, New York, NY 10016.
