Rodney E.E. Miller

YORK Rodney E.E. Miller, 75, passed away Saturday, June 20, 2009, at York Hospital. He was the husband of Barbara J. (Wyche) Miller, with whom he celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on April 26th. Mr. Miller was born in York on September 27, 1933, the son of the late Raymond E.E. and Helen N. (Reiber) Miller. He was a Prudential Financial Agent for 32 years, retiring in 1988. Rodney was a member of Shiloh United Church of Christ and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. A graduate of William Penn High School, Class of 1951. He was the first Eagle Scout of Boy Scout Troop # 94, an assistant scout leader, and also accompanied them for 20 years at summer camp. Rodney was a member of the Shiloh Lions Club and the Viking Athletic Association. He was an accomplished cabinet maker, an avid golfer, hunter and enjoyed horses and bird watching. In addition to his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Deborah M. Schaale, Linda S. Little and her husband, Richard, all of York, and Kathleen L. Roth of North Carolina; a son, Steven M. Miller and his wife, Cheryl of York; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; a sister, Karen S. Bupp and her husband, Oscar of York; a niece; and a nephew and his wife. He was preceded in death by a sister, Marlene Miller. There is a visitation scheduled from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shiloh United Church of Christ, 2251 Willow Rd., York. A memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. at the church, with his pastor, the Rev. David D. Danneberger, officiating. Burial will be private at the convenience of the family. The LeRoy R. Leber Funeral Home, Inc., 2290 School St., York, have been entrusted with the arrangements.
