Rose A. (DeBartolo) Zanzi

Rose A. (DeBartolo) Zanzi, 94, of Granite Street, Westerly, died on Saturday morning, Sept. 29, 2007, at her home. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis P. Zanzi in 1980, whom she married in 1947.
She is survived by her sister, Nancy C. Matos of Westerly, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by her brothers and sisters, Anthony DeBartolo, Susie Bianco, Frank DeBartolo, John DeBartolo and Theresa Nicastro; a niece, Dolores (DeBartolo) Bower and a nephew, Frank A. Nicastro.
Mrs. Zanzi was born in Westerly on Oct. 25, 1912, the daughter of the late Carmine and Amelia (Pellegrino) DeBartolo.
She worked as a textile weaver at the George C. Moore Company of Westerly and was a meat wrapper at the Big "G" Supermarkets for many years. A member of the Women's Auxiliary, the Bocce Club and the Calabrese Club, her favorite hobby besides cooking was doing cutwork and needlepoint.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, Oct. 2, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Pius X Church, 44 Elm St., Westerly. There will be no procession from the funeral home. Burial will take place at St. Sebastian Cemetery, Westerly. Calling hours will take place at Rushlow-Iacoi Funeral Home, 64 Friendship St., Westerly, on Tuesday from 8:30 to 10 a.m.
