Such a loss to her community. What a shock to find that she was gone--I never knew about her illness til it was over, only knew her as an active, healthy, forward-looking and accomplished young woman. I'll remember her that way.

Wendy's Family,
While I have never met you and hadn't been in touch with Wendy in years, I am very sorry for your loss. We met and became friends while Sierra Club had assigned her to an election in Georgia in 2002.

Dear Balazik Family,

I was saddened to read of Wendy's passing in the University of Mary Washington alumni magazine. Wendy was one of the first students I had met after coming to Mary Washington in 1997. I distinctly remember some enriching conversations I had with her while at Mary Washington, and having lunch with her on Capitol Hill.

May the joy of the Resurrection give you comfort at this time.

I was shocked and deeply saddened to hear of Wendy's passing in the MWC alumni magazine. She and I became friends when we both worked on Capitol Hill in the 90's (on opposite sides of the aisle, which always made for lively discussions). She was a wonderful person with a great sense of humor, and I will truly miss her.

I am so sorry for your huge loss. Wendy was a wonderful person and had a personality that I will never forget. She and I had many graduate classes together at GMU and I will always cherish the memories I had of sitting next to her and talking about Cloverleaf Mall and Matoaca.

I will never forget our trip to the Grand Canyon. I remember while driving up there she sang the Dixie Chicks "Cowboy take me away" and we stared at the sea of stars that blanketed the night sky.

Wendy is a wonderful woman and will be missed. I am sorry for your loss.

John, Becky, and family,

I was so sorry to hear of Wendy's passing earlier this week. Although it has been many years since I've seen her, I still remember her well from when we were all little kids. I know she was a special girl to the whole family and I pray you will always keep her memory close to your heart.
