Alvin Lucas Obituary
Alvin John Lucas, 91, of Bellefontaine, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 16, 2023. He was born on August 30, 1932, in Newburgh, New York to the late Edward and Rachel Lucas. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Captain John Lucas; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.
On June 23, 1957, he married the former Elsie McQueen and she survives in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by their children: Darrel Edward (Rachel) Lucas and Patrick Jay (Teresa) Lucas; grandchildren: Ryan, Julie, Ethan, Tyler, Haley, and Khirstyn; great grandchildren: Brooklyn, Makenna, Ellie, Kellen, Kiron, Declan, and Laurel; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A United States Air Force Veteran of over 20 years, John was a quiet and simple man but loved his family deeply. He also enjoyed gardening and attending to his yard work.
Pastor Daniel McCarty will officiate a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 19, 2023, at the Hillcrest Baptist Church, 1505 S Main Street, Bellefontaine, Ohio 43311. Visitation will be one hour prior from 11:00 to 12:00 at the church. Burial will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
