Randy Lee Ricketts, 64, passed away at his residence in Bellefontaine, Ohio, on Friday, October 17, 2025. He was a father, grandfather, spouse, brother, and friend.
Randy’s battle with cancer in the past two years demonstrated his courage in facing unbelievable challenges. Despite the many medical obstacles thrown at him and the pain he endured, he came out a hero and remained strong until the end.
Randy was born in Bellefontaine June 27, 1961, a son of the late Homer Larry Ricketts and Alice Mae Miller Ricketts. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jeffery Duane Ricketts.
Randy is survived by his loving partner of twenty-two years, Courtney Kelly Reaver; his son, Ricky Lee Ricketts; four grandchildren: Maille, Avani, Bronn and Archer Ricketts; his sister, Cheryl Ricketts (Scott) Chamberlain; his nephew, Aaron (Whitney) Chamberlain; great-nephews, Reid and Cooper Chamberlain; along with Kelly's children, Sarah Pickering (Eddie), Kaity Klaas (Jack), and her grandchildren, Zaiden, Ezyal, Edison and Graham.
Those who knew Randy will remember him for his gift for making others smile and laugh, always leaving a lasting impression.
He enjoyed concerts, looking for artifacts, mushroom hunting, frisbee golf, and building things. Most of all, he cherished time with his friends. If you were a friend, then you were considered family.
A celebration of life with family and friends will be announced at a later date.
Randy is to be cremated and his remains interred at the East Liberty Cemetery in East Liberty, Ohio.
