Barbara Ann Stewart

Barbara Ann Stewart, 74, of Sanford passed away unexpectedly at her home on June 23, 2024. She was born to Theresa Mary Pettipas on March 14, 1950, in Nova scotia, Canada. She married her best friend William Stewart on June 28, 1969, and they shared 55 years together.
Barbara was a great mother & grandmother and an award-winning woodcarver for over 30 years. She taught woodcarving for several years, won many awards, and sold carvings internationally. She was the president of the Midland Woodcarvers club and a member of the state-wide Michigan Woodcarvers Association.
Barbara is survived by her husband; William Stewart, mother; Theresa, children; Wesley and Tanya Stewart, grandchild; Allison Stewart, Canadian brothers and sisters; Roger, Mona, Susan, Charlie, Cindy, Peggy, brother-in-law; Keith (Marti) Stewart.
She is preceded in death by her sister-in-law; Heather Stewart
A cremation has taken place per her wishes. No services are planned at this time.
In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy are asked to consider donating to a local critter adoption facility In her honor. She cared for animals big and small.
