Benjamin Jay Bode, age 40, son of Christine (Leonard) Maxson and James (Kathryn) Bode, passed away unexpectedly on February 4, 2024 due to complications of diabetes. A Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00-5:00 PM on Friday February 16th, 2024 at Johnson-Hagglund Funeral and Cremation in Litchfield, MN with a Service at 2:30 PM.
Ben grew up in the Litchfield/Grove City area and graduated from ACGC in 2002. He was good at taking things apart and putting them back together in his own fashion. He loved being outdoors, riding his bike, looking for agates and especially disc golfing - which was his passion. He didn’t go anywhere without his music along and he was always looking for the beauty in nature, often stopping to pick flowers or take a picture. Ben enjoyed wood carving and drawing and he liked to experiment with cooking and baking. Ben got hooked on Jeopardy!, while watching everyday with his grandparents, Lyle and Bev. He enjoyed every second he spent with his family dogs, Sam, Sally and Roy.
Ben is survived by his parents, grandmothers Bev Thornquist and Donna Maxson, aunts and uncles Doug Thornquist , Mary and Mike Remarke, Julie and Brad Keyser, Joe Bode, Cynthia Greene and Scott and Kristin Maxson and his many cousins and friends.
Ben will especially be missed by his closest friends, Kris, Ned, Murkey, Amber, Chad and Bob.
He was preceded in death by his grandpas, Lyle Thornquist and Merlyn Maxson, grandparents Deen and Kathleen Bode, aunt and uncle Kris and Marv Ruchti, uncle Naython Greene, dear friends Christopher Johnson and Don Worden.
