Benton Arthur Ordas

Benton A. Ordas, age 77, passed away on Wednesday, June 12, 2024. He was a beloved father and friend, who will be missed by all who knew him.
Ben was born on February 28, 1947, in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1965 and fought in Vietnam. He was awarded a Purple Heart. He went on to attend Ball State University, where he earned an M.A. in Education, majoring in Industrial Education. He later became an instructor at Ivy Tech Community College.
Ben enjoyed collecting and restoring antique Studebaker cars and trucks, and he was always happy to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. He was an active member of the Studebaker community and was instrumental in helping to restore hundreds of Studebakers through his knowledge, connections, and resources.
Above all, Ben was a fun father, who spent time with his daughter telling jokes, eating cheeseburgers and ice cream, shopping, and going to the movies. He was always there to offer praise and encouragement. Ben's memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
Ben is survived by his daughter, Sunny, and sister, Lois.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Clark, and both parents, Arthur and Betty.
A private funeral service will be held for family and friends.
