Betty L. Ahern

Betty L. Ahern, 86, formerly of Rawlings, MD, died Friday, January 5, 2024 at WVU Medicine Potomac Valley Hospital, Keyser, WV.
Born on August 10, 1937 in Preston County, WV, she was a daughter of the late John James and Treda Virginia (Nice) Dillsworth. She also was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Ahern on February 12, 1991 and four brothers, Richard, Larry, Terry and Russell Dillsworth.
In her younger years, Betty was a care giver and was formerly employed as a nursing aide at Cuppett-Weeks Nursing Home in Oakland, MD. She also worked at the Point View Inn at Deep Creek Lake, MD. She was a member of the Church of God in Gormania, WV and loved going to yard sales and having yard sales. She also enjoyed going to country music festivals and meeting new people.
Surviving is her sister, Diane Ravenscroft and husband Tommy of Oldtown, MD and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from 6-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Smith Funeral Home, Keyser Chapel, on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at 11:00 a.m.
Interment will be in the Mt. Olivet Cemetery at Lantz Ridge, WV.
