Robert "Bobby" McClure, born April 26, 1962, in Goldsboro, NC, passed away on April 14, 2025, in
Washington, NC, just shy of his 63rd birthday. Bobby's journey through life was marked by hard work, loyalty, and a profound love for the great outdoors.
A skilled electrician and welder by trade, Bobby's talents were as diverse as they were meticulous. He found joy in working with his hands and took pride in a job well done. Beyond his professional life, Bobby was an avid outdoorsman who reveled in the tranquility of nature. He spent countless hours hunting, fishing, and playing golf-a passion that led him to serve as an assistant golf pro, sharing his love for the game with others.
Bobby was known for his unwavering loyalty to friends and family, serving as a steadfast companion through thick and thin. His love for life was infectious, always accompanied by a warm smile and a cheerful story.
Bobby is preceded in death by his father, Robert McClure. He leaves behind a devoted family, including his beloved mother, Alice McClure of Washington Park, NC; his cherished daughter, Hanna McClure (Xavier), his brother, Sam McClure, and wife Emily; his sister, Ann Heydlauf, and husband Mike; and his uncle Frank "Jimmy" Howard and wife Amanda.
His memory will also be carried on by his dear nieces and nephews: Olivia Parker, Montgomery McClure, Samantha McClure, Oliver McClure, Savannah Heydlauf, and Alice Heydlauf. Bobby also shared a bond with Pam McClure, mother of his daughter, who acted as his confdant and friend.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday at 2:00 PM at the First Presbyterian Church, located at 211 W. 2nd St., with a reception to follow in the fellowship hall. Family and friends are invited to come together and honor Bobby's vibrant spirit and the countless memories he leaves behind.
Though Bobby has left this world, his legacy of love, laughter, and friendship remains ever present. In true Bobby fashion, he bid farewell with a tribute to his lifelong loyalty as a Clemson fan, his final words echoing, "Go Tigers!"
