Graveside funeral services for Mr. Bobby Ray Taylor, 73, of Deadwood, Texas will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Scott Cemetery with Brandy Fountain officiating. Burial will follow under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. Visitation will be 6-8:00 p.m. Thursday night at Hawthorn Funeral Home.
Mr. Bobby Ray Taylor was born February 9, 1952, in Carthage, Panola County, Texas. He passed this life May 12, 2025, at his Carthage, Texas home. Bobby was born to the marriage of Winfrey Avery Gates and Odis "Boss" Taylor. He was raised in Deadwood and schooled in Carthage graduating with the Bulldog class of 1970.
Mr. Taylor worked in oil field construction as a heavy equipment operator and supervisor through Marshall Exploration for 25 years and Blazer Construction for over 10 years.
Mr. Taylor was an avid outdoorsman. His time outside of work consisted of hunting, fishing, family and friends. His life and love surrounded the Sabine River. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, James Taylor, grandson, Brandon Fountain and great grandson, Grayson Fountain.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his loving children, son, Bobby Taylor, Jr. of Carthage, daughter, Brandy Fountain and husband John of Deadwood; brother, Don Taylor and wife Janis of Conroe; grandchildren, Dustin and Tristyn Fountain, Josh and Courtney Fountain, Colby Taylor, Braden Taylor, Camden Taylor; great grandchildren, Emerson, Josey, Adalynn, Kynlee, Sutton, and Aicen Fountain.
Serving as pallbearers will be, Dustin Fountain, Josh Fountain, Colby Taylor, Braden Taylor, Camden Taylor, and Bobby Taylor, Jr.
