Carl Eugene Ebert was born December 16, 1932, in the small community of Granite, Utah. He was the youngest in a large family that depended on the fruit produced from their farm. He was taught to work hard and to love family, God, and Country. After graduating from Jordan High, he attended Utah State University where he excelled as an athlete and scholar. He was the top Whiteside award recipient for athlete scholar of 1955.

It was at USU that he met Anna Mae Hill from Richmond, Utah and married her shortly after his commission in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lt. Upon receiving an honorable discharge, he and Anna Mae returned home to Utah where Carl built his family a home in Taylorsville, Utah and they raised their family.

He taught mathematics and coached for the Granite School District. During his teaching career he worked on and received a master's degree in social work from the University of Utah. During summers, he worked construction, eventually turning that skill into a full-time occupation as a General Contractor.

For the past 7 years he lived in Payson at the Central Utah Veterans Home. He was known and loved there for his ability to keep the staff chuckling.

His family has been his greatest blessing in life. He often expressed gratitude for his four children, seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He always wanted to know what they were doing and how they were.

He was an avid reader with a thirst for knowledge, particularly history. He loved the adventure of travel, music, and theatrical productions.

He is survived by his four children: Deanne (Robert) Stevenson, Jacci Ebert, Darrell Ebert, Bonnie (Mike) Beames; 7 grandchildren: Jake, Tim, Matt, Hayden, Seth, Quinn, Mercedes, and six great-grandchildren: Lily, Calvin, Maggie, Olive, Poppy, and Braxton.

He was preceded in death by his wife Anna Mae Hill, mother Ruth Thomson, Father Otto Ebert, siblings George, Clara, Glenn, Eldora, and Blanche.

His family would like to thank those who cared for him and became part of his family while residing at the Veterans Home and to all the remaining members of the Bennion First Ward for their continued support of his family. Thank you!

Funeral services will be held Saturday July 13, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Ridgecrest Building, 3315 West 5620 South, Taylorsville, Utah.
