Carolyn "Carol" Jean (Grove) Miller, 80, of Hagerstown, Maryland, passed away on May 10, 2025, at Meritus Medical Center, surrounded by her devoted family.
Born on June 25, 1944, in Sharpsburg, Maryland, Carol was the cherished daughter of the late William Allen Grove and Ruth (Mathias) Grove. She graduated from South Hagerstown High School and continued her education at Hagerstown Business College. Early in her career, she worked at Nicodemus Bank before owning and operating Rosemary's Florist, where her love of beauty and personal touch brightened the lives of many in her community.
In 1978, Carol returned to the banking profession, where she built a long and respected career at M&T Bank, retiring in 2013 after 35 years of dedicated service.
She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church Williamsport, MD.
Carol's greatest joy was her family, and she poured her heart into loving and caring for them throughout her life. She is survived by her beloved daughters, Angelia Sue Miller and Amy Lynne Schrock and spouse Michael Schrock; her loving sister, Sandra Lee Myers; grandchildren Derek Ryan Hewitt, Hunter Michael Schrock ( Aliya McDonald), and Zachary Ryan Schrock; and great-grandson Mason Ryan Hewitt. She also leaves behind her niece Tracey Myers-Preston and husband Michael Preston, nephew Charles (Chuck) Allen Myers, and four great-nieces and nephews: Elyse Elizabeth Preston, Michael Wayne Preston Jr., Alexandra Lee Preston, and Donald John Preston.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her cherished grandson, Devin Russell Hewitt.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD with Pastor Randy Reid officiating. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service on Thursday from 10:00 – 11:00 am. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery Keedysville, MD.
Carol will be remembered for the deep love she had for her family and the unwavering care she gave them. Her family held her in the same deep affection she so freely gave. She was a beacon of warmth, kindness, and generosity to all who knew her. We will always remember her with a smile on her face, the kind words she always offered, and the way she made everyone feel special. Her spirit lives on in everyone she touched.
