George was born on November 17, 1936, in Cumberland, MD to the late George Washington and Ethel May (McAtee) Gross.
He was a 1954 graduate of Fort Hill High School in Cumberland, MD.
Geroge was a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was employed by Mack Trucks in Hagerstown until his retirement.
George was a past member of Western Maryland Street Rod Association and Mason Dixon Street Rod Association. He loved working on and building street rods over the years and enjoyed spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife Andra Kay "Andy" Gross whom he married on April 1, 1964; son Michael Gross of Beckley, WV; daughter Ann Reed (Tim) of Greencastle, PA; 3 granddaughters: Shea Beal (Matthew), Sarah Ross (Nat), Olivia Hose (Noah); 6 great grandchildren: Nathaniel Beal, Emma Beal, Isaiah Hose, Leighton Hose, Raelynn Hose, and Levi Hose.
Services and burial will be private.
