Patricia Arlene "Pat" Ebersole, 82, of
Williamsport, MD, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 26, 2025.
Born in
Williamsport, Maryland, Patricia was the daughter of the late Hilda A. (Shipley) French Hollenbaugh and the late Fred S. French. She was a proud graduate of Williamsport High School and later attended Frostburg State College.
On November 9, 1962, she married the love of her life, Richard L. Ebersole. Together they built a life centered on faith and community, raising their two children, Jacqueline and R. Trent. Patricia's devotion to her family remained constant throughout her life, and she found joy in her role as mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Patricia dedicated 23 years of her career to Northern Middle School, where she served as school secretary. Her eye for detail, strong work ethic, and commitment to excellence made her an invaluable member of the school community. She took great pride in her work and was deeply respected by the students, staff, and families she supported.
She was an active participant of the Maugansville Ruritan Club, volunteering her time and talents to strengthen the community she loved. Patricia was also a devoted member of Salem Reformed Church, where she valued the fellowship, faith, and support shared among its congregation. Her church family played an important role throughout her life, providing encouragement and friendship in every season. Her family wishes to extend heartfelt appreciation to the members of Salem Reformed Church and to all those who shared in prayers, kindness, and compassion during this time.
Patricia also enjoyed traveling, often with close friends, visiting countries abroad and all 50 states. These experiences brought her laughter, cherished memories of friendship, and a deep appreciation for American history and those who sacrificed for the freedoms we enjoy today.
She was a woman of quiet strength, independence, and perseverance-qualities that guided her through life's challenges and inspired those around her. Her steady presence, integrity, and thoughtfulness will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Richard; her daughter Jacqueline and husband Ricard; her son R. Trent and wife Berta; and her grandchildren Joshua, Kristin, Kelly, Emily, Abby, Evan, and Adam; along with her great-grandson Easton. She is also survived by her siblings Vernon, Judy, and Linda.
A memorial service will be held at Salem Reformed Church 13182 Salem Church Rd. Hagerstown, Saturday, November 8, 2025.
