Charlene Houston McMullen, 84, of Blakely passed away June 17, 2024 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home, with Rev. Jerry Murkerson officiating. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 18, 2024 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Bethel Cemetery on Cedar Springs Road. Pall Bearers being asked to serve are Fred Cleveland, Bill Cleveland, Deuce Odom, Justin Lott, Jordan Wilkerson, and Billy Thomas.
Charlene was born January 14, 1940 in Early County to the late Collie and Jetta Rentz Houston. She was married to the late William Judson McMullen. A seamstress by trade, Charlene was employed for many years by Robere's. She attended the First Assembly of God Church of Blakely.
In addition to her parents, Charlene was predeceased by her husband, William Judson McMullen, brother, Wayne Houston and sisters, Linda Ruth Griffin, Johnnie Corley, and Bobbie Dean Petterson. Survivors include sons, Charles Gregory McMullen (Guyla), and William Ricky McMullen (Judy), daughters, Linda Dale Harper, Lisa Dawn Conner (Eddie), Amanda Starr Cleveland (Fred), Charla Marie Driver, and Abbie Kay Cleveland (Tim), and a brother, Jimmy Houston. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great-grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews. Charlene also leaves behind her long-time companion, Maggie Mae.
Manry Jordan Hodges Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
