Christopher Shawn Claxton

Christopher Shawn Claxton, known to family and friends as "Chris," passed away on September 14, 2023, in Roanoke, VA, leaving behind cherished memories and a legacy of love.
Born on May 10, 1974, in Radford, VA, Chris received his education in Montgomery County and Roanoke City Public Schools. He dedicated himself to his work as a Stewarding Supervisor at the Hotel Roanoke and Conference Center, where he was a loyal employee. Additionally, up until his transition to Heaven, Chris served as a Manager at the LT Corner Store, where his friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on all who crossed his path.
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Larry D. Robinson; his maternal grandmother, Evelyn L. Claxton; and his paternal grandparents, Charlie and Ora Robinson. He joins them in eternal rest.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving mother, Paulette Claxton of Roanoke, VA; his brothers, Danny Claxton (Poetry) of Woodbridge, VA, and Kevin Simmons of Roanoke, VA; his sister, Amanda Claxton, of Richmond, VA; his aunts, Joyce Norrell of Shawsville, VA, Carol Claxton of Woodbridge, VA, and Lisa Thaxton (Darryl) of Charlotte, NC; his uncles, Wayne Claxton of Hampton, VA, Glen Claxton of Shawsville, VA, and Kenny Claxton of Shawsville, VA; supervisor and trusted friend, Manzoor Ali Khan; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and loved ones. Chris' warm heart and vibrant spirit touched the lives of many, and his memory will live on forever.
A service to celebrate Chris' life will be at 12 p.m. on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Valley Funeral Home. In the meantime, let us remember the joy he brought to our lives and keep his spirit alive through the love we share with one another.
