Christopher Nielsen Obituary

Christopher Chase Nielsen passed away on March 11, 2022, at the age of 29. Born in Albert Lea, Minnesota, on January 11, 1993, Christopher grew up in the Valley, where he was active in sports, scouts, camping, and all things outdoors. In 2012 he enlisted in the U.S. Army and following basic training graduated from Combat Training with the 434th Field Artillery Brigade. He then went on to complete jump school with the 82nd Airborne. Christopher loved working with his hands and found work in carpentry, traveling to Virginia and Salt Lake City. He most recently moved to Oklahoma City, where he leaned into his entrepreneurial, adventurous spirit and successfully started his own construction company, Buildarc, LLC. Ever selfless and thoughtful, with an endearing wit and a ready, wide grin, he was a good friend to many and cherished his family. Christopher is survived by his mother, Brenda Morse, and father, Steve Nielsen, as well as his brothers, Eric, Brian, and Mark.

Chris and my brother were best friends in high school, and Chris was always over at our house. He was there for a lot of our family events and even holidays. Our family loved him and he was always welcome and he even felt like a brother to me in some ways. I will always remember him for his positive and fun attitude, his quick-witted humor, his charisma and charm and for all the joy and energy he brought to my family. My heart breaks for the Nielsen family and I am so sorry for the loss of such a special person. Sending love and light.

Chris was my brothers "Christ" best friend. Chris was a ball of energy being the new kid at mesquite high school. He would come over to my house all the time and he really grew on everyone. I still talk about how quirky he was and my family remembers he was Christian's best friend. I'm sorry this happened and me and my brother cried because Chris was special and unique in how he carried himself and those years were great. We could never get Chris to stay in one spot! He's left behind people that remember how charismatic he was and his curious mind.
