Mr. Blackburn was born on November 23, 1934 to the late Guy Blackburn and Betress Spicer Blackburn.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers J.T. Blackburn and William Blackburn; and two sisters Mary Lou Billings and Ola Mae Settle.
Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Karen Blackburn of the home; two sons Ray (Allison) Blackburn of Hamptonville and Dillon Blackburn of Elkin; a daughter Susan Blackburn of Wilkesboro; two stepsons Bradley Rogers and Richard Rogers; a stepdaughter Kayla Rogers; six grandchildren Michelle Riddle, Matthew Riddle, Troy Blackburn, Will Blackburn, Megan Blackburn, and Conway Blackburn; a step grandchild Rhett Rogers; ten great-grandchildren; and nine great great-grandchildren.
A funeral service for Mr. Blackburn will be held on Sunday January 12, 2025 at 3pm at Center Baptist Church in Thurmond with Ramsey Emory officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2pm-3pm at the church prior to the service on Sunday.
