Coy Dunn, Sr., age 82, of Rocky Face, GA, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025, peacefully at home with his wife, Joyce, of 60 years.
Rarely will one meet a person as unique as Coy Dunn. Coy was a college athlete, Navy Veteran, successful salesman, weekend cowboy, and an avid fan of Women's Basketball.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Luther and Flora Mae Dunn; twin brother, Troy Dunn; and father and mother-in-law, Ralph and Sarah Jones.
He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce Dunn of Rocky Face; son, Coy "Jimmy" Dunn, Jr., formerly of Kennesaw; daughter and daughter-in-law, Jill Dunn and Amanda Wright of Charlotte, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Joy and Larry Locke of the Beaverdale community; grandchildren, Grayson and Miyah Dunn-Wright; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Bob Jones, Peg Jones, Linda Jones and Kathy Stricklan; and special little buddy, Sawyer Stricklan; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
A funeral service will be held at Mill Creek Baptist Church on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at 2:00 PM with Rev. Keely Hasty officiating.
The family will receive friends at the Rocky Face chapel of Julian Peeples Funeral Home on Monday, May 5, 2025, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Burial will be in Mill Creek Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Mill Creek Baptist Church in Coy's honor.
