Curtis Ray Johnson

Curtis Ray Johnson, age 59 of Indianapolis passed away on Sunday, April 9, 2023 at his residence following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born July 26, 1963 in Beech Grove, Indiana the son of Clifford and Rosie (Carter) Johnson. Curt was a 1981 graduate of Franklin Central High School and following graduation he attended Ivy Tech College, where he received an associate degree in 1983. He was a long time employee at Eli Lilly Company, and was a second generation worker at Carter Lee Lumber. Curt married the love of his life, Maggie Lohrman on September 14, 1985 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Indianapolis. He enjoyed purchasing and redoing homes and making people smile. Curt loved nothing more than spending time with his friends and family.
Curt is survived by his wife of 37 years, Maggie Johnson; son, Christopher (wife Tosha) Johnson; daughter, Jacklyn (husband Kevin) Williams; sister, Doris More; granddaughter, Hazel Johnson; and numerous family members and friends.
Curt is preceded in death by his parents; Patty Schuman; Linda Gentry; and Jodey Johnson.
Visitation and Funeral Mass will be held at Nativity Catholic Church, 7225 Southeaster Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46239.
Thursday, April 20, 2023, family visitation from 4-5 pm, with public visitation to follow from 5-8pm.
Friday, April 21, 2023 will begin with public visitation from 10-11 am and funeral mass from 11-12pm.
Funeral Mass will be followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon in the parish hall.
In lieu of flowers the family will take donations to be split amongst Curt's many favorite charities.
