Cynthia Simpson Obituary
Publish in a newspaper
at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with Rev. Drew Collins officiating. Burial will be at Georgia Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Simpson was born in Dublin, Georgia on July 11, 1947, to Alden B. Dominy and Miriam Ruth Montford Dominy. She obtained her Masters Degree in Library Science from the University of South Carolina. She worked in the Library at Georgia Military College and retired as Library Director with over 30 years of service. After her retirement she again worked at GMC in Special Collection for many years. In her retirement she enjoyed the time she was able to spend with her grandchildren Nathan and Lauryn at GMC events. She also enjoyed spending time working by the creek with Jim on the farm. She was preceded in death by her husband Charles Noel "Butch" Simpson, Jr.
Survivors include two sons, Steven A. Simpson (Laurie) of Milledgeville and Charles N. Simpson, Jr. (Shanna) of Whitmire, SC, a family friend Jim Owens, six grandchildren a sister Joan Williams of Milledgeville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wreaths Across America, 4083 Lannie Rd. Jacksonville, FL 32218.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
Moores Funeral Home & Crematory has charge of arrangements.
