Darlene Gale Martin, age 88, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, at her home in Orlando, FL. She was born September 28, 1935, in Muskegon,MI, to George and Maxine (Bean) Sinen. She was a 1953 graduate of North Muskegon High School. She married Clemente D. Martin on February 5, 1971, in Orlando, FL. Darlene was a Realtor in the Orlando area and enjoyed it. She also worked at the local YMCA in Pensacola and Orlando. Ultimately, she became a teacher's assistant for kids with special needs at Chickasaw Elementary and loved working with and helping children. After retiring, she volunteered at Florida Hospital for several years, which suited her servant heart.
Darlene enjoyed meeting with her retired girlfriends once a month for breakfast. When she was younger, she was part of a Bridge Club and enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. She also loved to dance and was known to do the “twist” like no other. She also loved playing the piano and her favorite song to play was, “Release me” by Engelbert Humperinck.
Darlene truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures, chatting with friends, spending time with family, eating sweets (especially scotcheroos), or eating lunch with her husband at the local Olive Garden. She had an uncanny ability to reach people in a deep and positive way.
Darlene’s main passion was being a mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was proud and loved all of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren dearly.
