David was a Nationally Board-Certified educator, with a master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from the University of Wyoming. David spent nearly two decades teaching elementary school in Cheyenne, WY, including 15 years at Goins Elementary and 4 years at Fairview Elementary. David also coached his daughter's youth soccer and basketball teams. Recently, David was a girls' basketball coach at Cheyenne South High School. David's greatest professional legacy is the meaningful and impactful relationships that he fostered with students, families, and colleagues.
David, a beloved friend and family man, found joy in bringing humor and wit to all situations. His classic accents, impersonations, movie quotes, one-liners, ability to find anyone's doppelganger, and ready humor and jokes all fostered joy and entertainment for those around him. David loved all sports, specifically soccer, "old man" basketball, Denver athletics, the Wyoming Cowboys, Notre Dame, and so much more. Through his laughter, generosity, kindness, and joy, David instilled love and fun even into the simplest of days. He lived by the mantra, "Faith, Family, Friends"-this is what mattered most to him.
