Donald Horace McClain

Donald Horace McClain (Don) of Pasadena, Texas, a beloved husband, esteemed pilot, and devoted community member, passed away on March 20th, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of dedication, kindness, and service. Born on August 24th, 1947, in Houston, Texas, Don's life was characterized by his passion for flight, his commitment to his country, and his unwavering devotion to his family and community.
Don's journey began at Cy-Fair High School, where he laid the foundation for his future endeavors. His thirst for knowledge and his fascination with mechanics and aviation led him to pursue licenses in both automotive and aeronautical fields, setting the stage for a remarkable career ahead.
As a young adult, Don served his country with honor and distinction in the United States Coast Guard, embodying the values of duty, integrity, and courage. Following his service, he embarked on a career as a corporate pilot, where his exceptional skills and unwavering professionalism earned him respect and admiration throughout his four decades in the industry.
Beyond his professional achievements, Don was deeply engaged in his community, dedicating his time and energy to various organizations. He was a proud member of the National Rifle Association, where he advocated for responsible gun ownership and safety. Additionally, his passion for aviation led him to become an active member of the Quiet Birdmen.
On May 29, 1975, Don married Brenda, with whom he shared over 48 years of cherished memories, laughter, and companionship. Their enduring partnership was a testament to their unwavering love and mutual support, serving as an inspiration to all who knew them.
Don will be remembered for his warm heart, his infectious laughter, and his unwavering generosity. He leaves behind a profound legacy of service, love, and dedication that will continue to inspire and uplift those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is survived by his loving wife Brenda McClain, his sister Paulette Boleyn (Bob), niece Ashley Braband, son Donnie McClain (JD Fields), daughter Kelsey Walters (Denzil), grandsons Duncan McClain and Pierce Walters, granddaughter Piper Walters, his extended family, and countless friends and colleagues who will deeply miss his presence in their lives. Though he may have taken his final flight, Don's spirit will forever soar in the hearts of those who were touched by his remarkable life.
Don is preceded in death by his parents Horace and Letta Rue McClain.
