Donna Jeanette Cox, 88, of Mount Vernon, Illinois, passed away at 7:53 pm May 19, 2023 at Crossroads Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. She was born November 4, 1934 in Mount Vernon, Illinois to the late Arthur and Lillie Belle (Lance) Cook. Donna married Amos Eugene Cox on July 3, 1953 in Mount Vernon, Illinois. They were blessed with nearly forty-four years of marriage before he preceded her in death on March 4, 1997.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Terri Lauramore of Mount Vernon; grandchildren, Jennifer Jackson and husband, Chris of Bonnie, Illinois, Jeremiah Bradford of Mount Vernon, Illinois, Shauna Trotter and husband, Aaron of Dahlgren, Illinois, Charlie Lauramore of Mount Vernon, Illinois, and April Lund and husband, Jeff of Bismark, North Dakota; grandchildren, Dylan, Dustin, Isaac, Aiden, and Ava; sister, Joyce Ward and husband, Steve of Mount Vernon, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Donna was preceded in death by son, Steve Cox.
Donna was a member of Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
A Graveside Service will be held Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at 1:00 pm at Oakwood Cemetery in Mount Vernon, Illinois with Mr. Aaron Trotter officiating. Inurnment will follow. Memorials may be made in Donna's honor to the Charity of the Donor's Choice.
