Donna Marie Christine Johnson was born January 3, 1966, to Roydel Johnson and the late Lauren Jean Johnson in Kingston, Jamaica. She migrated to the U.S. as a child and would eventually live with her family in Plainfield, NJ. She attended Jefferson Elementary School, Maxson Middle School, and Plainfield High School, from which she graduated in 1985. Afterwards, she continued her studies and obtained an associate degree in early childhood development with a certificate in finance from Union County College. After graduating college. DonnaMarie taught preschool at King's Daughter's Daycare in Plainfield, NJ. Wanting to utilize her certificate in finance DonnaMarie would work as a tax specialist for various H&R Block locations between Plainfield and Somerset, NJ for a number of years, all while holding a position as a data entry clerk for Chubb Insurance located in Whitehorse, NJ.
In 2011, she was diagnosed with renal disease. This diagnosis allowed her to return to her first passion of teaching and caring for childre. Donna Marie devoted her time to taking care of her grandchildren. She was very proud and active in her community. She loved to participate in any activity that involved the youth such as the PTA and Chaperoning events. Not only was she known for her kind heart and big smile. She was known to enjoy candy cigarettes, soft orange peanuts, and smarties candies, while she watched her favorite mystery show "Matlock.
Regarded for her great penmanship she enjoyed completing Word Puzzles. With a great love of sports. Donnamarie was a devoted New York Giants and New York Knicks fan. She was called home on February 4, 2024.
She's preceded in death by her mother Lauren Jean Johnson and her younger brother Leopold Johnson. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children Tiffany Johnson (Donny) of New Jersey, Theron Johnson of New Jersey, and Tatania Johnson (Carlos) of Florida; her father Roydel (Ernett) Johnson of Florida; sister Claudine Johnson of Florida; brother Paul Johnson of New Jersey. She is also survived by her grandchildren Gabriella Delacruz, Lebron Johnson, Ilario Battista, Ilayeha'Rose Battista, and Cairo Gervin; her nieces Kazmirah Gratz and Quatirra Johnson; her nephew Paul Johnson Jr.; her devoted companion Jerry Parrot of New Jersey and a host of loving family and friends.
