Doris Jeanette Blackmon

Doris Jeanette Blackmon 72, went to her heavenly home February 9th, 2024. 

Jeanette had been declining in health for the last few years. She worked at Kaiser Roth in Goldston, NC and UNC Chapel Hill, before health problems forced her to retire. 

Jeanette loved her family. She was most happy when she was spending time with her son Kenneth, watching scary movies, and enjoying cheese pizza.  

For years, her constant companion was Precious, her pet dog. Precious loved Jeanette and was very protective of her. Jeanette loved making fancy bows to place on gifts she often gave. You really had to work to get your gift open. 

Friends knew her as Doris, however to family, she was simply “Ralph.” 

Jeanette was preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Hicks; brother, Dwight Hicks; nephews, Mark Dickerson and Hunter Hicks. 

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Blackmon Jr. of Thomasville, NC; her mother, Beulah Hicks of Goldston; brothers, David Hicks of Bennett, NC and Ray Hicks of Goldston; sisters, Phyllis Dickerson of Greensboro, NC and Kay Hicks of Goldston; as well as nieces, nephews and many special friends.

Services are private.
