We are heartbroken to share the news that Doris Shea passed away on August 6, 2024, at the age of 91. The daughter of Lucy and Louis Bussetti, Doris was raised in Brooklyn, NY, and lived in Pearl River since 1971. She is predeceased by her husband, Joseph M. Shea (2009), and her son Richard M. Shea (2022), and is survived by her daughter Lorraine and two grandchildren, Danae and Orion Shea. She also leaves behind an extensive family and friends who love her dearly. In the past, Doris was a Market Researcher for BMW of North America and also worked in advertising and publishing.
Always energetic and curious, Doris never even stopped learning and being active. An avid reader, she loved visiting the library and would read up to three books a week. She would often walk to the gym at her apartment complex and ride the stationary bike for 20 minutes. She excelled at doing jigsaw puzzles. She also impressed her grandson with her spectacular driving skills.
Doris was a shining beacon of light who infused the world with love. Her vibrant spirit will always warmly live on in our hearts. We will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Friday, August 9th, from 4-7pm at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home in Pearl River, NY, and a Prayer Services will be held at Wyman-Fisher at 10am on August 10, 2024, followed by her burial at St. Anthony Cemetery, in Nanuet, NY.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
