Duane Keith Gunter, 66, died on Monday, October 23, 2023, at Essentia St. Mary's Medical Center in Duluth.
Duane was born on June 28, 1957, in Minneapolis, MN to Shirley (Denny) and Wayne Gunter.
He was employed as a welder most of his working career, working primarily for North Shore Manufacturers and Superior Steel.
Duane was a gifted cook, but he made a mess while putting out some great meals. He had a love of the outdoors; he was an avid fisherman and hunter. Duane enjoyed camping, 4-wheeling, and snowmobiling with his friends and some of his family. He loved listening to music and especially country music.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include is significant other, Heidi Maucieri; his sons, Chris Gunter, and Darrick Gunter; his daughter, Bobbie Lessman; his brother, Gary (Sabrina) Gunter; his sisters, Gail (Jim) Thoennes and Deelaine Sperl; numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Duane's Life will be held on Saturday, December 2nd from 1-5 p.m. at the Carlton VFW, 124 Chestnut Ave, Carlton, MN 55718.

We always had a good time when we together as kids. We fished, we had vacations together as our families were close back then. And even though I have not seen him in many years, the memories will never go away. Thanks for those.
