Marie Laws, age 98 of Green Mountain, went Home to be with her heavenly Father on Sunday, December 22nd, 2024, at her home. Born on September 2, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Crawford Ayers and Lou Mae Bailey Ayers.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 63 years, Buck Laws, who passed away in 2011; sisters: Tilda Bennett and Mary Lee Masters; brothers: Vernal, Hobert, Ott, Tom, Jerry, Jack, Boyd, and one infant brother.
She was a faithful member of Covy Rock Free Will Baptist Church for many years. Buck and Marie's greatest blessing was visiting different churches, rest homes, and family and friends.
Surviving is her loving children: sons, Dale Laws (Elaine) of Red Hill; Rev. Roger Laws (Barbara) of Buladean; daughters: Nina Miller (Jerry) and Jean Murphy (Rev. Tommy), both of Green Mountain; grandchildren: Matthew Laws (Cara), Brandon Laws (Shea), Amelia McMahan (Junior), Rev. Allen Laws (Melissa), Rev. Kevin Laws (Tiffany), Tommy Gene (April), and Christy Cooper (Brandon); great-grandchildren: Ettalene and Elam Laws, Eli and Savannah Laws, Ava and Mason McMahan, Elijah and Brody Laws, Delancey, Rev. Corbin Laws and Ike Laws, Tyler and Jordan Buchanan, and Nettie and Carie Cooper; special brother and sister, Betty Stump and Floyd Ayers; as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 28th, 2024, at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will accept friends and loved ones beginning at 11:00 a.m. until the service begins. Reverends Marvin Hensley and Billy Styles will be officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Will Hughes Cemetery in Green Mountain, NC.
The family would like to say a very special thank you to the Hospice and Palliative Care of the Blue Ridge; and especially thank Alisha and Stephanie for their efforts and exceptional care of Marie in her last days.
