Herman Weatherman

Herman James Weatherman, 80, of Burnsville, NC, passed away peacefully at home on October 12, 2025.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Diane Weatherman. They met as young teens in Rhode Island, where Herman was working in a factory. They married in 1965. Concerned about the Vietnam draft, Herman enlisted in the Army with a friend, serving two years, including one year in Vietnam.
Herman and Diane decided to raise their daughters in North Carolina, returning to Burnsville in 1972, where they remained. Herman was a beloved figure in the community, working as a mechanic in Newdale for 25 years. Friends and family were paramount to him, and he cherished his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Herman was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother, and two sisters. He is also survived by his two daughters, Lori Gouge (and Robert) and Melissa Dickerson (and Michael), 5 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no public services for him. The family would like to thank everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time of grief.
